Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique mix. From Broadway to European events and bars, the artist has worked everywhere. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing and playing the piano in the church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training within the city's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was Stalk You an exclusive house 12 that was released only in Japan and has since been remixed by a variety of artists and is an integral part of her live sets. The voice of hers was featured in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. Her role was as the sole keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls The stage show at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine earned national fame during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's 2009 inauguration.
